...creating and preserving families without borders since 1980
...fulfilling our mission to create happiness for children

Illien Adoptions International, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in the State of Georgia  licensed by the Georgia Department of Human Resources as a child placing agency in the State of Georgia.

Illien Adoptions International, Inc. was founded in  1980 and first licensed in Georgia in April 1982 with the mission to find permanent families for abandoned children anywhere in the world and to provide assistance to other neglected and destitute children in need who are not legally abandoned, without limitation to political or geographic boundaries, religion or ethnic origin.

Since that time there have been many political changes, nationally and internationally, which have regulated the movement of children from one country to other in order to make intercountry adoption safer for all parties and to find solutions for the safety and care of abandoned children inside of their country of origin. The major change in the United States incurred in 2008 when our country became a Hague Convention country.

From 2008 to 2016 Illien Adoptions International, Inc. operated as a Hague accredited agency, finding families for abandoned children and serving as the Primary Provider for these cases. Illien Adoptions International, Inc. has not been a Hague accredited agency since August 5, 2016 but has continued its mission to help abandoned children find safety and permanency by providing services to children and families under our Georgia license.

Illien Adoptions International, Inc.  is also DBA Illien Global Families which maintains our core belief that every child should grow up in a permanent family, but recognizes that there are many other ways to help abandoned children to achieve the best solutions possible for their safety and security in their country of origin. We are exploring different options at present to help vulnerable children all over the world who may not be eligible for intercountry adoption.

Although Illien Adoptions is not able to serve as the Primary Provider for intercountry adoptions under the Hague Adoption Convention, Illien can legally provide certain services for intercountry adoption cases under Supervised Provider Agreements and Exempt Provider Agreements with other Hague accredited agencies. In order for you to understand the way these services are regulated, we advise you to read the regulations for intercountry adoption on the website travel.state.gov, then click on intercountry adoption.

If you are a resident of the State of Georgia, we can conduct a Hague compliant home study, post-placement and post adoption reports for intercountry or domestic adoptions, under the appropriate Provider Agreements with Hague accredited agencies. We can assist you to find other Hague accredited agencies experienced in the countries you are seeking to adopt from.

Illien Adoptions has 36 years of experience in intercounty adoption. If you are seeking to adopt a child internationally, we have accumulated invaluable experience which we are willing to share with you and to help guide you in the right direction and not get off the track. One of the areas where we have a great deal of experience is in intercountry relative adoptions from all countries. Many prospective adoptive families do not realize that they must have a Primary Provider for a relative adoption and that the child must qualify to be adopted under the Hague Adoption Convention.

We also can answer many questions and concerns about problems and issues of intercountry adoption and domestic adoption and we will share resources that might help you with your adjustment and the child’s adjustment after coming home.

Please note that Illien Adoptions International, Inc. does not discriminate on the basis of ethnic origin, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual preference, gender or physically challenged in hiring practices, or in client acceptance of children for services or prospective adoptive parents.

We are available to answer any questions you might have about intercountry adoption. You may either call us at 404-815-1599 and leave your name, contact information and complete message and we will call you back, or you may write to info@illienadoptions.org or annabelle@illienadoptions.org.
